Вроде ничего нового, но мило, что написали. Англоперевод статьи лежит здесь. На всякий случай утащу сюда под кат, а то мало ли. Тыкать в картинку)

Translation of article from Figure Skating Prince 2017-2018 Omnibus
Ok, so posting my translations is definitely out of the wheel house for this blog, but my FS side blog is devoted mostly to one particular skater/the less prominent members of Team Japan, so this doesn’t really fit with it, but once I read this article I had to share it with the world, cause Yuzu/Javi friendship is the best friendship, so you guys get it, and my run on sentences here.
Disclaimer: My translation skills are fair at best, I do this for fun and to share content with other fans
Yuzuru and Fernandez True Friendship
At the Pyeongchang Olympics, Javier Fernandez acquired his dearly desired medal. He is Yuzuru Hanyu’s training partner, senior, and close rival. Is their connection “True Friendship”?
Javier Fernandez has left Canada.
He obtained his dearly desired medal at the Pyeongchang Olympics. Though he made statements last year that hinted at retirement after the Olympics, at the present time it seems that he will continue competing. Though he said he only plans to compete in a B-level competition and in the European Championships.
Hanyu and Javier are training partners and rivals. At the Sochi Olympics Hanyu was gold, Javier was 4th. In the 3 years following, the World Championship gold was always held by one of them.
Despite being two such powerful skaters, there is no animosity between them, but rather a definite friendship. Their coach Tracey Wilson said:
“It’s wonderful to see, they are both really very kindhearted people. They look after each other and it’s good for both of them”
To hear these words from their coach who sees them close up, their amazing connection certainly cannot be a lie.
Of all the competitions they’ve participated in together the one where their intimate state could move one to tears was the 2015 World Championships. Javier won gold, Hanyu was silver. Javier gently hugged a crying Hanyu and said this:
“I may be the champion this time, but you are always the champion in my heart”
Hanyu recounted the episode later in an interview. Javier also said this:
“I asked Yuzuru why he was crying and he said ‘I’m so happy, I know Javi has worked very hard for this’”
After obtaining their medals at the Pyeongchang Olympics, a crying Hanyu embraced Javier. At this time Javier revealed to Hanyu
“I think this is my last Olympics”.
Between the joy of winning a gold medal and the shock of Javier’s confession, Hanyu’s cheeks were wet with tears.
To Hanyu, Javier is a “true rival and close friend”. Even though Javier has returned home to Spain, his friendship with Hanyu will certainly continue forever. (х)
