Из "программки", перевод с японского на английский (у нас раньше был японский-китайский-английский; было бы круто, конечно, если бы кто-нибудь напрямую на русский перевел...)

Yuzuru Hanyu Special Interview
“He is a fellow competitor I have trained together with for a long time, and more than anything else the fellow competitor who gave me motivation to practice; that is Javi. His jumps has flow, and high success rates. That’s why I thought I would like to train together with him. That I took the decision to go to Canada was also because he was at the Cricket Club.
Before I went to Canada, I had expected practice everyday with Javi to be filled with a spirit of rivalry, but in any case Javi was kind. There was completely no instance in which our relationship with each other became thorny, and as we became very friendly, at the same time we enhanced each other’s skating, and in this sense this became a very important relationship.
Although 6 years have passed since I moved my training base to Canada, in these 6 years Javi has continued to be my motivation and to feel like something akin to the starting point of my skating. Within me he will always be such a significant existence. If he was not here, I would not have been able to stabilise my 4T and 4S and include them in my programmes, and because he was here, I was able to even endure the hard training.
During the FS at the PyeongChang Olympics, the skating order was such that Javi skated immediately after me. At the moment his performance ended, although I had watched the entire performance on the monitor in the green room (the holding room for the three leading skaters), when his scores came out and his medal was confirmed, my tears flowed spontaneously. This was because I knew of his feelings of regret and frustration over how narrowly he had missed a medal at the Sochi Olympics 4 years ago, and had also strongly sensed his wish to absolutely win a medal this time. I was really happy that Javi was next to me on the podium. Maybe Javi was the first to make me feel genuinely happy for the results of another skater other than myself. Because everyday we go on the same ice and practice, and we know about everything–the times when each other is in good form or bad form, the things we struggled with and also the things we worked hard on and overcame.”

“The competitions I entered together with Yuzu are all memories. Because I know him very well, when he performs well, I will also become filled with a sense of pride. No matter which competition, there are special memories even if they are small. For example at the 2015 World Championships where I won my first (Worlds) gold medal. Although Yuzu seemed sad that he did not win, he was happy for me that I won. To be seen in this way by a fellow competitor, is something that is very precious.
Perhaps my relationship with Yuzu can be described as “improvement”. We watched and learnt from each other, we were each other’s greatest rivals, but are also friends. I think that we made each other improve as athletes, and also as people.
Although perhaps I will no longer compete with him at the same competitions, I will always support him.”
